ADVANCED STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

The Advanced Structural Engineering Laboratory covers a wide spectrum of activities including experimental studies on model and prototype of structural elements and assemblies under various static and dynamic loading conditions through the application of modern materials and technologies, new solutions in vibration mitigation, structural health monitoring and earthquake retrofitting.

STRENGTH OF MATERIALS LABORATORY

Strength of Materials or Material Testing Laboratory is fully equipped for conducting concrete compressive strength, modulus of elasticity and offers facilities for testing building materials for their behavior and suitability for various applications. Material testing and material characterization can help to determine the best material for our application.

HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING LABORATORY

The Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory aids to strengthen the physical understanding of the theory of Fluid mechanics and Hydraulic machines. The experiments are designed to demonstrate and analyze the engineering properties of fluids, hydrostatics, fluid kinematics, fluid dynamics and open channel flow. The lab is well equipped with the facilities for Hydraulic Testing of Pipes, apparatus to calculate sudden losses in Expansion, Contraction and Bends, performance characteristics of Pumps and Turbines.

SURVEY LABORATORY

The Survey Laboratory has a wide variety of modern surveying equipments such as GPS-based surveying equipment, total stations, theodolites, and automatic levels for basic instructional and research purposes. Undergraduate students use this laboratory as an integral part of their surveying coursework and obtain any topographic information that can help their capstone design projects, such as highway design and land development. The students are given appropriate safety training and instruction on the use and care for the equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

Environmental Engineering Laboratory is fully equipped with equipments for the qualitative analysis of water and waste water. The students can have hands-on experience on water testing and verify parameters for the limits of drinking water as well as waste water discharge standards. In addition they develop the skills of evaluating the data to provide the environmental significance of the pollutants in water and waste water.

SOIL MECHANICS LABORATORY

Soil mechanics laboratory involves procedures such as extracting, examining and testing representative samples of soil to compute a model very close to the real situation, analyzing the soil properties related directly to the relevant foundation of any structure. The laboratory contributes to experimental analysis with high automation sophisticated testing procedures and good testing manuals.

CONCRETE AND HIGHWAY ENGINEERING LABORATORY

The concrete laboratory is fully equipped with all the experimental set up for testing of cement, fine aggregate and coarse aggregate, properties of concrete to understand its suitability for particular job. The lab also houses equipments to test Highway materials comprising of aggregate (Coarse&Fine), bitumen etc. to design the pavement for the properties of durability, shape, adhesion of bitumen.

COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN AND DRAFTING LABORATORY

The computer aided design laboratory is fully equipped with all the necessary software set ups like AutoCAD, Revit Architecture,STAAD.Pro, 3DS MAX and Primavera for the purpose of Planning, Designing, Analyzing of a structure and also for the purpose of project management that is to determine the time duration for the completion of project.
