Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology

Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) at Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology is an emerging club that aims at sensitising college students to their electoral rights through interactive activities and hands-on experiences. Through a variety of engaging activities and games, ELC fosters an environment where learning about voting rights becomes enjoyable and thought-provoking.

OBJECTIVES

To raise awareness about the fundamental right to vote among college students, faculty members, and the wider community.
To cultivate critical thinking skills concerning issues related to electoral rights, democracies, and electoral processes.
To educate future voters about the electoral process, including enrollment procedures and the functioning of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems.
To motive the culture of active electoral participation and to emphasize the importance of ethical voting and the principles of “Every vote counts” and “No voter left behind.”
